Motorola loves a concept, and its latest is a large action model: AI capable of taking action for you. I got a demo of the model on a Razr Plus, where a simple text prompt cued it to open the Uber app and call a ride. Neat! It’s not shipping anytime soon, but Moto has a few other AI features that might.

A new teaser for Motorola’s next-gen Razr gives us a brief glimpse at the foldable and confirms a June 25th launch date. So far, leaks suggest that the Razr 50 Ultra and its cheaper counterpart will come with larger cover screens.

Earlier this year Motorola launched a trio of Edge phones internationally. Now, the budget-friendliest of the bunch will be making its way to the US as the Motorola Edge 2024. It’ll cost $549 unlocked when it goes on sale June 20th.

Fingers crossed that the Edge 50 Ultra makes it to the US later this year — I’m ready for a wooden phone revival.

Motorola is teasing what seems to be an “arty” new Edge phone coming next week, and it looks like we can expect fast wired charging on what the company has dubbed a “masterpiece.” That’s a bold claim, but the last Moto phone I used sure was a good-looking device — personally I’m hoping for more of that lovely vegan leather and less ugly bloatware.

I got to check out Motorola’s concept phone with a bending display. Is it impractical? Yes. Is it cool as hell? Also yes.

I was allowed to put it on my own wrist with a special magnetic bracelet keeping it in place. Can you imagine just casually checking the time on your bendable slap bracelet phone in the middle of a meeting? The ultimate flex!

As we roll onward with hot foldables summer (with some big announcements near), Zack Nelson put the Motorola Razr Plus through his signature durability test. Is the Razr the most promising flip-style phone we’ve seen yet? Yes. Is it still quite fragile? Also yes.

But surprisingly, it’s not the inner display that died. It turns out there’s some empty space behind the Razr’s outer screen, and that gap was enough for it to crack and cave inward with some force applied.

(I still want one of these things all the same.)

Leaks have shown us what to expect for the next Razr and its external display, which should have some competition in the flip-style folding phone race.

Now a tweet from Motorola shows we should expect a full launch on June 1st. But the most interesting part might be the quote tweet from Motorola US (via 9to5Google), which is another suggestion that, unlike its 2022 Razr, this year’s model might be released in the US.

Lenovo executive Chen Jin has confirmed that the upcoming Motorola Razr foldable will have a 3.5-inch cover display.

That’s bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 (1.9 inches), it’s bigger than the last Razr (2.7 inches), and it’s even bigger than Oppo’s recent Find N2 Flip (3.26 inches). Here’s hoping Motorola’s software makes the most of the screen real estate.
